1932 British Rugby League Collection

The 1932 British Rugby League collection. The classic 1932 British tour of Australia and New Zealand is used as design inspiration for the clothes found in this collection.

The 1932 Great Britain Tour to Australia and New Zealand, led by the legendary Jim Sullivan was one of the closest ever Ashes Test Series. The tourists started their Test campaign in front of over 70,000 in Sydney. A record breaking crowd, the record stood for 60 years. The first test ended in Aussie defeat by 8-6. The second Test was one of the most brutal matches in history, titled ‘The Battle of Brisbane’. In the match the Kangaroos managed to hold out 15-6 despite being down to ten men. A Third Test decider was therefore required. The tourists then clinched the Ashes with an 18-13 victory in the Third and final Test. They then went on to New Zealand and defeated the Kiwis in all 3 of the test matches.
