Doddie Weir Clothing Range

We were approached to design a rugby-inspired fashion collection for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation by Logan Sports Marketing back in December 2022. The design team at Ellis Rugby has worked tirelessly to develop the ‘Doddie Weir Signature Collection’ concept. Furthermore, this range has been extremely popular and we are now on our third manufacturing run thanks to our outstanding customer support.

Doddie’s wonderful rugby career combines neatly with the Ellis Rugby – rugby heritage approach to design. This first capsule range celebrates Doddie’s Scotland Rugby career. His first senior appearance was on 10 November 1990 against Argentina at Murrayfield Stadium. The big man was a fan favourite and a mainstay of the team throughout the 1990s. His final appearance was in the Six Nations Championship match against France at Murrayfield, on 4 March 2000.

We include the traditional Scottish Thistle and the years he played for his beloved Scotland – 1990 – 2000. In addition, we incorporate Doddie’s signature as an embroidery and on the decorative woven label. Furthermore, we carefully combine the tartan as trims on side vents, packets, and the half-moon neck lining. Also, the tartan pocket on the T-Shirt is a personal favourite of the Ellis Rugby design team.

To make our garments extra special, we’ve added our unique ‘Story-Teller’ microchip. Scan the decorative woven garment label on the front – just above the hem. A message will appear on iPhones, tap the icon and the video will launch. Android Smartphones often scan better if the back of the phone is placed over the label.

Furthermore, once the chip is detected the video will launch automatically on your phone. It includes a heartwarming video of Doddie talking through his great range of playing jerseys.
