The establishment of Addison RFC took place in 1869 with about 50 members. The club’s name is due to its origins in the part of Kensington to the west of Holland Park where the streets are named after the politician Joseph Addison.

The Red House Farm in the present Little Wormwood Scrubs was the original home of Addison Rugby Football Club. 1872 saw the club move to the Rifle Pavilion which was on the corner of North Pole Road and Wood Lane. The ground was titled the Rifle Pavilion because of the rifle ranges nearby on Wormwood Scrubs. The clubs final move took placed in 1874 when the club moved to Shepherd’s Bush Green.

1875 featured the disbanding of the Addison Rugby Football Club after just 6 seasons.
