English 1st International Rugger




The English 1st International Rugger. A vintage design with inspiration drawn from the first international rugby game to take place. Featuring on this Jersey is a celebration Red Rose Crest patch as well as subtle Ellis Rugby branding. The Crest patch features on the left chest of this garment with Ellis Rugby branding on the collar stand as well as the arm.

England’s first international match was against Scotland on Monday 27th March 1871. Scotland won this match, played in front of a crowd of 4,000 people at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh.

A subsequent international took place at the Oval in London on 5th February 1872 which saw England gain revenge and defeat Scotland.

Manufactured from satin touch 100% Cotton. The English 1st International Rugger features detailed embroidery of a 1st International celebration Red Rose Crest patch. Also included on the design is matching inner placket, cuffs and collar as well as herringbone detail on vents and velvet tape on the neck opening. In addition subtle Ellis Rugby branding features on the collar stand and ecru coloured logo on the arm.

The English 1st International Rugger is available in sizes S – 4XL.
