The Vintage Rugby League Cap World Cup Great Britain is inspired by the history of the Rugby League World Cup. It features a retro Great Britain Rugby League Lions Crest applique on the front and classic ‘13’ applique on the side.
One of the great victories for Great Britain was at the 1972 Rugby League World Cup which held in France during October and November 1972. Australia were favourites to retain the title they had won two years earlier. New Zealand were also a major force. They had beaten the Kangaroos, Lions and Les Chanticleers in 1971. France were expected to be tough to beat on their home soil.
