Description

The first introduction of Rugby Football to South Africa was in 1875. The sport struggled to gain popularity in the country until 1878 when a former England international player arrived in Cape Town. Football was the most prominent sport in South Africa but that changed as Rugby gained popularity. 1891 saw Britain tour the country and would include South Africa’s first international game. Britain would tour South Africa two more times before South Africa visited Britain. In the second British tour of South Africa the visiting side would lose 5-0.

The first South African team to tour the British Isles was captained by Paul Roos. The tour took place during 1906-07 with the South African team largely dominated by players from Western Province. They played 29 matches; including Tests against all four Home Nations.

The Bok Zipper features chunky rib collar and cuffs with full vintage bronze zip. In addition this garment is embroidered with the vintage Springbok badge. Also included on this zipper is Ellis Rugby branding which features on the arm.

The Bok Zipper is available in size L only.
