Vintage New Zealand T-Shirt

£29.95

The name ‘All Blacks’ dates from the first tour of the UK by a New Zealand national rugby team, the Originals, in 1905-06. According to Billy Wallace, one of the members of the Originals, a London newspaper quoted – ‘the New Zealanders played as if they were “all blacks” – which in fact, should have been – “all backs”. This simple typographical error is to blame for the now famous team name.
