Steve Mortimer, affectionately known as “Turvey”, is a legendary figure in Australian Rugby League. His name is synonymous with passion, skill, and leadership. He remains one of the most iconic players to have represented Canterbury Bankstown, New South Wales, and Australia. Steve Mortimer’s club career with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs is remarkable. He played a record 272 first-grade games between 1976 and 1988.
