Rugby League Frank Myler
Rugby League Frank Myler was born on 4 December 1938. He became one of the most respected players of his generation. He began his career with Widnes, playing as a centre and stand-off. Moreover, he quickly built a reputation for skill, strength, and leadership. His defining moment with Widnes came in the 1963–64 Challenge Cup Final. Furthermore, he scored a try in their 13–5 victory over Hull Kingston Rovers at Wembley Stadium. As a result, his name was established in English rugby league.
In 1968, Frank Myler joined St Helens, adding further achievements to his career. Additionally, he played left-centre in the Lancashire Cup Final, helping St Helens defeat Oldham 30–2. Furthermore, he appeared in the BBC2 Floodlit Trophy Final, showcasing his consistency in major competitions. Subsequently, in the 1969–70 season, he produced one of his finest performances. He was awarded the Harry Sunderland Trophy as man of the match in the Championship Final. As a result, St Helens defeated Leeds 24–12, with Myler leading by example.

In 1970, he captained the Great Britain Lions squad on their tour of Australia. After a heavy defeat in the first Test, the Lions, under Myler’s captaincy, never lost another game. In addition to his playing career, Frank Myler transitioned into coaching. He became player-coach with Rochdale Hornets in 1971, staying until 1974.
