Great to see our new vintage range in the Castleford Tigers Superstore at Xscape being launched yesterday.
These garments include the 1935 Polo, inspired by the great Arthur Atkinson and the first ever Wembley Challenge Cup winning team. In addition the more recent 1986 Castleford Rugby Jersey – who can forget Jamie Sandy’s mazy run to the line and Tony Marchant bursting through from thirty yards out!

Finally, my personal favourite (that I’m holding), 13th November 1963 Castleford defeated an outstanding Kangaroos team by 13 points to 12 – the team including the young half-back duo of Hardisty and Hepworth and hooker Johnny Ward was one of the heroes scoring two tries. This Aussie team included some of the all time greats – Graeme Langlands, Les Johns, Ken Irvine and Johnny Raper.

Many clubs like Castleford have a great heritage and Ellis Rugby’s unique approach to retail begins by researching the clubs history and developing designs around past milestones. This process results in garment designs that are not just the latest trend or technique, but have a genuine nostalgic connection with the supporters.
