NEW ZEALAND’S GREATEST RUGBY PLAYERS – IAN KIRKPATRICK

Ian Kirkpatrick, known as Ian Kirkpatrick All Blacks legend, was born on May 24, 1946. He grew up in a farming community and started playing rugby at the age of 10. Attending King’s College in Auckland, Kirkpatrick excelled in multiple sports. In 1964, he captained the school’s First XV and was also the head prefect. His athletic prowess in rugby, boxing, sprinting, hurdles, and pole vault was evident from an early age.

Also, Kirkpatrick began his first-class rugby career in 1966 with Poverty Bay. One year later, he moved to Christchurch and joined the Canterbury team. In the same year, he made his international debut for the All Blacks against France.
