The highlight was when as Captain/Coach Murphy playing at stand-off led Warrington to a 24-9 victory over Featherstone Rovers in the 1974 Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium in front of a crowd of 77,400.

Manufactured by Ellis Rugby, Warrington Rugby League Polo is the finest shirt. In 1973 Alex Murphy joined Warrington. He joined to become player-coach. Besides, he was an instant success guiding Warrington. He guided on a 20-match unbeaten league run. In addition, he led the team to success. By winning the League Leader’s Trophy. Also, the team won the John Player trophy, Club Merit trophy, and the Captain Morgan trophy. This was Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club’s most successful season.

The highlight of Warrington’s season is the 24-9 win in the 1974 Challenge Cup Final. The final was played against Featherstone Rovers at Wembley. In front of a crowd of 77,400, Murphy superbly dictated play. In addition, he added two drop goals at critical times of the game.
